Okay, I know I've been talking about a lot of extra credit assignment ideas but I haven't given much in the way of specifics. Here are a few ideas or at least starting points for other projects.

Create a board game that deals with any
concept in biology. You can base the game on an existing game (Monopoly,
Sorry!, Chutes and Ladders, etc.). Your game must include the following: a
spinner, dice, moveable game pieces and a stack of at least 20 question
cards. Please provide a "Rules of Play" manual.
Using PowerPoint, make a vocabulary tutorial
for any unit or even section of a unit. These can be used as computer flash
cards. Almost any vocab list will work (organelle function, tools of the
scientist, organ systems). There should be at least 10 terms (twenty
frames). The jazzier the better. Colors, animation........be creative!
I saw a cool computer version of the
game-show JEOPARDY using different science topics. This can also be done
using PowerPoint. You may want to check with me on this one for categories
and such.
Oral presentations on any subject in biology
are always an option. The presentation should be no more than 5-10 minutes
unless it is directly related to what we are studying in class. This one can
be a bit tricky to schedule so be sure to let me know in advance when and
what you will be presenting.
Don't limit yourself to MY ideas. I weigh
originality VERY heavily. Got a good idea? Let me know.
Please contact me with your plans if you are going to do any of
these or even something else. Emailing
me is always an option.
