Cellular respiration is the transfer of energy from the breakdown of larger fuel molecules, usually glucose, to a form useable by a cell, ATP. Cellular respiration produces carbon dioxide and aerobic cellular respiration uses oxygen. Breathing provides the gas exchange necessary for cellular respiration.
